IMG_9297.jpg

Cuisine: Vietnamese

Difficulty Level: Easy

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup sugar

  • ½ cup boiling water

  • ½ cup white vinegar

  • ½ cup fish sauce (I prefer Squid brand, but any fish sauce brand is fine)

  • 1 garlic clove, finely sliced

  • 1 chili, finely sliced

Instructions:

  • In a bowl, mix sugar with boiling water, so that the sugar dissolves

  • Add in the white vinegar and the fish sauce

  • Mix together

  • Finely cut up 1 garlic clove and 1 chili

  • Stir in the garlic and chili into the sauce

  • Store the sauce in a jar or a container with a lid in the fridge

Tip: If you plan on making Vietnamese food regularly, it’s always a good idea to have a jar of Vietnamese fish sauce ready in the fridge. Feel free to make as much or as little as you like. Just remember to use equal proportions of boiling water, sugar, vinegar and fish sauce.
